Senate Moves to Lower Governor Salary as Female Candidate Pulls Ahead

Sacramento – The California state senate plans to vote on a motion to lower the salary to be earned by the governor of The Golden State by 40% starting next year – bringing the new salary inline with the market rate for the pay discrepancy between male and female workers.  The bill came to the senate floor late last week after frontrunner Meg Whitman pulled ahead by another 3 points in most polls.

While most expect the bill to go thru without much debate, senator Dennis Hollingsworth of the 36th District delivered a fiery speech on the senate floor last Monday when he suggested that for woman as old and as an unattractive as Whitman, perhaps the bill should go further.

“I challenge you to show me a b*tch that fugly [sic] who has a job at all… let alone is making 6 figures,” said Hollingsworth.

In a statement released by his office later that day, Hollingsworth added, “Don’t get me wrong, I think Meg has a great personality; but given the economic crisis that this state is in, we can’t afford to be paying Sarah Palin type money for 68 year old hag with cankles.”

Whitman, who happens to be the wealthiest woman in the state of California with $1.3 Billion, reacted to the bill as “fair and appropriate,” and alluded to the fact that, should she indeed win the election, she would also expect to have the Governor’s large mahogany office replaced by an 8x14 cubicle.
